Rebecca congdon, Client Care Coordinator
I am thrilled to join Second Growth Counseling and to support you as you take the next steps in your unfolding story. I am familiar with the courage it takes to reach out for support, and the often frustrating dance of actually accessing those resources, finding the right fit, and making time to get it on your calendar!
I find joy in managing spreadsheets, color-coding, and checking off to-do lists, as well as meeting new people, supporting them as they identify and pursue their goals, and celebrating who they are and who they are becoming. I am grateful and excited to be your first contact with Second Growth and to assist you from that first contact all the way to your first appointment.
Outside of work I am a crazy cat lady (3 kitties), an enthusiastic Mom to my 3 boys, and a student at heart. I love learning new information about a wide array of topics, acquiring new skills and meeting new people. I also love zombie and true-crime, anything neon rainbow pastel, and the sweet refuge of a good blanket fort. I am always down for cake.
I am currently completing prerequisites and applying to nursing school, with the goal of becoming a mental health nurse. I hope to play a role in expanding mental health services in my community and improving access for vulnerable and underserved populations. My personal experiences with surviving trauma, grieving the loss of dear ones, enduring difficult life transitions, living with chronic mental health challenges, and supporting children with complex needs, has given me a deep appreciation for the heaviness that comes with such experiences, as well as an appreciation for the relief and comfort of having someone come alongside and help you carry the load.
I look forward to greeting you as you take your first steps by reaching out to Second Growth, and helping you connect with a provider who is the best fit for your particular needs and goals.
You are a treasure and a gift and I can’t wait for you to step into all the wonderful things waiting for you on the other side – and along the pathway through the hard work. Let’s take your first step together – I can’t wait to meet you!
“Sometimes the bravest and most important thing you can do is just show up.”
