It is a humbling honor to steward Second Growth Counseling with our amazing team. Born out of a vision to destigmatize mental health and create better access and outcomes for clients, we exist to grow resiliency among our communities. It’s incredibly fulfilling to serve alongside such competent, compassionate, and creative colleagues as we work together to make a difference in the world.

As a therapist, I support individuals and relationships navigating through life’s traumas, transitions, and stress. You may be feeling overwhelmed or stuck, but also motivated to work towards a breakthrough. If you’ve been carrying tension, grief, conflict, or emotional pain, let’s start to work things out. Together we’ll look at practical strategies to utilize your strengths, change patterns, and grow your resiliency.

“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

~ Anaïs Nin

I hold a Masters degree in Marriage and Family Counseling and a Masters of Divinity. I have a certificate in Non-Profit Management with Harvard University and have completed The Global Mental Health: Trauma and Recovery Training Program through Harvard Medical School’s Program in Refugee Trauma. My professional experience has included work as a community family therapist, supporting grieving families through hospice, counseling incarcerated survivors of trauma and exploitation, hospital chaplaincy, couples therapy and enrichment, providing counseling and training to mental health providers, supporting symptoms of burnout and compassion fatigue through treatment and training, and social justice advocacy in the community.

I am specifically trained to work with systems to provide contextualized care. I have additional specializations for using EMDR in trauma recovery, working with foster/adoptive families and in seasons of life with perinatal (infertility, pregnancy, postpartum) concerns. I am a frequent adjunct professor to graduate counseling students, providing instruction, mentorship and supervision to students entering this profession. As a clinical supervisor, I work with a select group of Associates who are dedicated to doing the courageous and humble work of tending to their own location of self, impact on others, and personal growth.

Support is how we do well. We all need someone in our corner with compassion, solidarity, and hope. I can be that for you, your journey, and your relationship. I am wholeheartedly for you and your wellbeing. I will come alongside you with compassion and challenge to help you confront what keeps you stuck. You’ll find a meaningful and productive space to process, reflect, and grow.

It takes courage to seek out support and explore how to make changes. I find great joy in working with clients to do the hard & healing work towards breakthrough.
