I absolutely love what I do – helping others become more of their authentic selves. I support clients recognize, accept, and process their experiences and emotions, and empower them to live their freest lives.
I have an undergraduate degree in Fine Art with a minor in Psychology. I hold a Masters degree in Art Therapy/Counseling I also completed all doctoral level coursework for social work.
“Because true belonging only happens when we present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world, our sense of belonging can never be greater than our self acceptance.”
~ Brene Brown
I take a client centered approach to therapy, letting the client lead the relationship and each encounter. Sometimes a client may have no preconceived notion of what the session will include, but often the subject matter will present itself by simply starting out by asking the client how the past week or few weeks have been. Themes and patterns often emerge that can lead to awareness and change.
I work to create an authentic relationship with each client, where vulnerability, transparency, and communication is mutual and reciprocal. I believe that we need to move outside of our comfort zones and what is familiar in order to grow. Thus with a combination of compassion and curiosity, clients can expect to explore different ways of noticing, thinking, and engaging the world around them.
